Day 1 - Arrived safely

We arrived at 10:50pm last night after 22 hours of travel from San Francisco, gathered our luggage and taxied to our guesthouse. We arrived and was told that our room was given away......Great!!! Apparently everything I sent them regarding are arrival time was fiction to them. No worries, we collected ourselves and found a new place for the night. There was no sense in starting out the trip in a bad mood, it was actually pretty comical when we settled down. We have since moved on to a different guesthouse in a nicer area and are having a nice cold beverage while I write this.

Today we walked a lot in search for the new place to stay. The morning began with a pretty crazy lizard about 4feet long catching a fish right in front of us in the canal. We then took a river taxi along the Chao Phraya river that runs through Bangkok. It was a great way to see a lot of the city at once. When we left the taxi, we hopped on a Tuk tuk and the crazy ride began. Weaving through traffic, going down random side streets, all these short cuts to help us get to somewhere we didn't want to go. It was pretty fun and only cost us a couple bucks so we would definitely do it again. The goal today is to transition into this time zone so we are taking it easy.

  1. If at first you don't succeed, have a cold one and chill. Glad you were able to make the best of it and carry on.
